A Message from Bishop Francis Kalabat
Dear faithful,
I write to inform you that Fr. Anthony Kathawa communicated to me on July 24, 2019, of his decision to be released from the priesthood, which I have accepted with a heavy heart. God calls all people to serve Him in different ways, and I am thankful for Fr. Kathawa’s openness to respond to that call, and all that he has contributed to our Church. I am confident that, through prayer, Fr. Kathawa has continued to listen to that same voice, which is now calling him to a new kind of service.
I have given him the blessing to celebrate his final Mass on Wednesday.
I am very understanding of the burdens he endures during this time and the difficulty of this decision. For this reason, I shall continue to support and pray for him, and I ask that you do the same during this important time of transition.

Please pray the following prayer of St. John Vianney: I love You, O my God, and my only desire is to love You until the last breath of my life. I love You, O my infinitely lovable God, and I would rather die loving You, than live without loving You. I love You, Lord and the only grace I ask is to love You eternally… My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love You, I want my heart to repeat it to You as often as I draw breath. |
