Sentencing of Chaldean Church Worker Found Guilty of Child Sexual Abuse

After being found guilty in August of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, Hurmiz Risko Ishak was sentenced today in Oakland County Circuit Court to 48 months to 15 years in prison.
Ishak, who had been the sacristan since 1997 at St. Joseph Chaldean Catholic Church in Troy, Michigan, was immediately reported to the authorities and removed from his position as a sacristan when allegations were first brought against him in October 2018.
