Confession

Home / Sacraments / Confession

God has endowed man with free will. Through this free will man has the ability to choose the goodness, truth, and love of God or choose against the goodness, truth, and love of God. In choosing against God, man sins, thereby rupturing his relationship with God and separating man from God. “Sin is before all else an offense against God, a rupture of communion with him” (CCC, 1440). Man, thus, needs to have his relationship restored. Confession is the gift from God by which man’s relationship is restored with the goodness, truth, and love of God.
