Sen. Jim Runestad, R-White Lake, introduced a resolution on Wednesday opposing the mass deportation of Iraqi nationals living in Michigan and the United States.
On Tuesday, April 2, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a ruling to stop the deportations and grant bond hearings to the Iraqi nationals swept up in the ICE raids across the country. This recent ruling makes some Iraqi nationals who were previously protected by the court order now vulnerable to deportation as of April 9, 2019.
On April 7, third-year graduate Chaldean seminarians Marcus Shammami and Kevin Yono were ordained to the Diaconate by Bp. Francis Kallabat. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue to prepare for the priesthood.
