On July 6, the Chaldean community gathered at Mother of God Cathedral in Southfield, Michigan, as Fr. Rodney Abasso and Fr. Perrin Atisha were ordained to the priesthood.
Graduates of Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Father Abasso and Father Perrin were ordained through the laying on of hands and the invocation of the Holy Spirit by the Most Rev. Francis Y. Kalabat, Bishop of St. Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Catholic Eparchy.
Father Atisha will serve as parochial vicar at St. George Chaldean Catholic Church in Shelby Township, Michigan and Father Abasso serve as parochial vicar at St. Thomas Chaldean Catholic Church in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
