Chaldeans Come Together to Donate to Front Line Workers

In an effort led by Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle and the Chaldean Chamber of Commerce, thousands of meals have been donated and delivered to the staff of local hospitals and other front-line workers, who have been working around the clock during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a two-phase effort, beginning with phase one on Sunday, April 12 (Easter morning), volunteers delivered sweets to all the local hospitals, police, and fire departments. Phase two was completed on Sunday, April 19 (Divine Mercy Sunday) by delivering food and sweets to police departments, fire departments, EMS, and hospitals—all located in the city of Detroit.

The Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle and the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all the donors and over twenty volunteers that were able to help and make this effort possible.

Please continue to pray for all of the first responders on the front lines during this pandemic.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

—John 13:34

Following a broadcast of Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses, Eucharistic Adoration was available from 12-5 PM in the church parking lot, with a blessing and procession given every half hour by Bp. Francis Kalabat. Volunteers worked for many hours to setup the alluring display with the Blessed Sacrament at its center.
