The 7th Annual Stride for Seminarians was held on September 20, 2020, hosted by the Alexander and Gabrielle Mansour Memorial Fund. Instead being held at the zoo, supporters walked and prayed together in their own communities wearing stride t-shirts. Families then gathered together at Mother of God’s church parking lot to celebrate Sunday Mass with Bp. Francis Kalabat.

The Stride for Seminarians annual event helps raise funds for the Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle seminarian fund and pay for graduate seminarian schooling, while also raising awareness of the need to support seminarians.

This year’s theme was “Walking in Unity, In Your Community.” Supporters walked through their own communities between 9 am–1 pm and visited local business partners for free breakfast and lunch.

Each year the diocese pays over $30,000 per graduate seminarian to cover tuition, room, and board—thus the need for support from the people of God to financially help with this expense. 100% of the proceeds collected go toward the formation and education of our Chaldean seminarians.

Lord Jesus Christ, we pray for these men whom You have called to discern priesthood. We beg Your continued blessings on our diocese and families. Amen.

St. Joseph, pray for us!
