On Saturday, July 3, Readers from all our parishes gathered at Mother of God church for a Mass and Blessing from Mar Francis Kalabat, bishop of our diocese. Readers, also known as Qaroye in Chaldean, proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture during Mass. In total, 96 Readers received a special blessing from Bishop Kalabat.
During the ceremony, Male Readers received their cincture (rope) vestment and female Readers received their veils. We thank God for this wonderful blessing in our diocese! Please keep all our servers in your prayers as they serve our parishes and community.
