Letter from Bishop Francis

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is with great joy and sincere gratitude that I write to you today on behalf of His Excellency Archbishop Edward Weisenburger of Detroit and myself. Together with the Chaldean Community Foundation and Shenandoah Country Club, we are honored to host a special evening in tribute to His Beatitude and Eminence Pierbattista Cardinal Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem.

Cardinal Pizzaballa is a distinguished servant of the Church who has devoted much of his ministry to the Holy Land. As shepherd of the Mother Church of Jerusalem, he carries the profound responsibility of sustaining and guiding the Christian presence in the very land made sacred by the life, death, and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

This dinner will offer us the blessed opportunity not only to welcome Cardinal Pizzaballa into our midst but also to witness the beautiful unity of the Church as Chaldean Catholics coming together with our Latin Catholic brothers and sisters in support of the Christian faithful of the Holy Land. In a world often marked by division, this evening will stand as a powerful expression of solidarity and communion within the Body of Christ, united in prayer, presence, and purpose.

I humbly invite you to join us for this meaningful evening. Your prayer, presence, and your generous support will greatly contribute to preserving the Christian witness in Jerusalem and throughout the region, where the faithful continue to face many challenges in the land where our faith was born. May our welcome be a source of encouragement and engagement and strength to His Beatitude as he faithfully shepherds the Church in these challenging times.

Your Servant in Christ,
+Bishop Francis Y. Kalabat
Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle, USA
