Holy Orders

“Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate” (CCC, 1536).

Through the Sacrament of Holy Orders, men dedicate themselves to proclaim the Gospel to the World and offer the mysteries of the faith to the rest of the People of God. The men who are called in this particular way share in the authority of Christ to teach, sanctify, and govern. These men are called to lay down their lives and be at the service of Church, in all she does.
