Dear brothers and sister in Christ,

Last week, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrated the Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis, Indiana which drew an estimated 60,000 Catholics from around the country to draw close in worship to Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The event rekindled a piety and love of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament, the very center of our lives as Christians. Jesus himself tells us, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.” (John 6:35)

Recently, the world huddled around their TVs watching the opening ceremony of the Olympic games in Paris, France and were shocked and disgusted to find a direct attack on the Eucharist with drag queens mocking the Last Supper.

Therefore, I am calling on Chaldeans throughout the Diocese to join me in praying a nine-day novena for the Adoration of the Eucharist. The novena will be posted daily via the social media outlets of the Diocese. Please try to pray the prayers, if possible, in a Eucharistic Chapel. Send the prayers to your family and friends, and, better yet, pray it with them!

In all things, we give glory and praise to Jesus Christ. As Christians and His disciples, we fight evil with love!

Your Servant in Christ,

+Bishop Francis Y. Kalabat
