Bishop Francis has designated the 2nd Sunday of Advent each year as our Diocesan Day of Vocations. Today we pray that young men and women will be inspired by Jesus Christ and respond to God’s calling to a religious life.
PRIESTHOOD
Since 1989, our diocese has entrusted its seminarian formation to Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan. Sacred Heart is recognized nationally and around the world as one of the leading centers in the New Evangelization.
Our diocese currently has 31 priests (26 active and 5 retired) and 8 seminarians studying for the priesthood.
If you feel God is calling you to the priesthood, please speak to your parish priest or contact our vocations director, Fr. Bryan Kassa at [email protected].
RELIGIOUS LIFE
The Congregation of the Chaldean Sisters: Daughters of Mary Immaculate is an apostolic congregation founded in Baghdad on August 7, 1922, by Patriarch Mar Yousif Emmanuel II Toma.
The congregation aims at a life of contemplative unity with God. Each religious sister attempts to discover the will of God for herself and for the salvation of souls. Thus, one will become a sign and a testimony of conversion and consecration to God.
The Chaldean Sisters: Daughters of Mary Immaculate’s order consists of three convents (two in Michigan and one in Illinois) and a Formation Home located in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
If you feel God is calling you to a religious life, contact Sr. Angela Morkos, the Director of Vocations for Religious Life at 248-445-3581.
